International Engagement

International engagement through capacity building programmes has been an area of focus for the National Training Institute for Policy Research, Innovation and Training (NTIPRIT).To enrich the knowledge of  policy makers and professionals of other countries in the field of telecommunications, NTIPRIT conducts training programmes for international participants from time to time. The Institute specializes in the field of telecommunications especially in the areas of ICT in Disaster Management, ICT Policy and Regulation and in the emerging fields of telecom technology viz, 5G and its Use cases, IoT technologies and Ecosystem, Telecom Security Management. The Institute which has a highly skilled and experienced faculty also draws experts from industry and other relevant organizations for the benefit of international participants.

The Institute has conducted International Training Programmes under Indian Technical and Economic Co-operation (ITEC) Programme of Government of India and for Asia-Pacific Tele-community (APT).The programmes under the aegis of NTIPRIT, provides an excellent platform to the participants for knowledge sharing and learning the international best practises in the field of telecommunications. These programmes promote human resource development which empowers themfor the balanced development of telecommunications in these areas,leadingto socio-economic development. The Institute envisages to offer such capacity building programmes to other regional and economic communities.

Engagement under ITEC Program

The ITEC programme of Government of India, which is essentially bilateral in nature, includestraining or capacity building as one of the major activities.The programme offers the professionals and people from developing countries unique training courses which empower them with not just professional skills, but prepare them for an increasingly globalized world.

NTIPRIT has from time to time organized courses on topics of relevance under thisprogramme of Government of India in the fields of:

  • Public Safety Communication Systems including Role of Telecom in Disaster Management
  • Telecommunication Licencing and Regulation
  •  Mobile Technologies GSM, UMTS and LTE
  •  Optical Transmission Technologies
  •  ICT in Disaster Management
  • 5G & IoT
  • ICT Policy Planning
  • EMF Radiation in Telecom services

            The courses were conducted in offline mode at Ghaziabad. 144 participants from 98 countries have benefitted from this program. The programmes were well appreciated by the participants due to their relevance, quality of content and delivery. A cultural tour was also organized during the programme. In future too, NTIPRIT proposes to organize such programmes.

Engagement under APT Capacity Building Programme

APT is an intergovernmental organization that operates in conjunction with telecom service providers, manufacturers of communications equipment, and research and development organizations active in the field of communication, information and innovation technologies. The training programmes of APT come under “APT Capacity Building Programme”. Officers from various countries of Asia Pacific region including India has regularly been attending and benefiting from such training programmes.

For the countries under APT region, the Institute has organized courses in the fields of:

  • ICT in Disaster Management and
  • ICT Policy and Regulation.

35 participants from 17 countries have been benefitted from the programmes. These programmes, which were conducted in online mode, were well accepted by the audiences and APT. In future too, the Institute proposes to enhance this cooperation by organizingthe capacity building programmes on the topics of importance.
